I’m a big fan of Patrick McNeil (@DesignMeltdown). For those who don’t know him, he’s a web developer (creator of Design Meltdown) and author of several books on creative web design. One of his newer works is the series, Web Designer’s Idea Book. Great books and well worth picking up when you have the chance! What I admire most about Patrick is his passion for compelling art and inspiring web design, which he tackles the same way I do. If you browse around to some of the more creative sites out there, it’s like going to an art show. There are so many varieties of unique styles and ideas, and each one has its own strength and appeal. Patrick organizes these books in a way that lets you appreciate each style, helping you to understand the art fully and in a very clean and neat way. Both of his idea books present some of the best examples of how people are making the web a pleasurable, browsing experience.

But I digress. I submitted my site to the second volume of The Web Designer’s Idea Book and was thrilled to see that my website had been accepted and placed under the category “Photographic Backgrounds”, pg. 137. A little humbling with all the great websites that had been chosen, but was a cool feeling! Very appreciative of Mr. McNeil for thinking of me. Looking forward to reading his upcoming book, The Designer’s Web Handbook.
